CURTAIN AGEING
Perth’s varying seasonal changes are harsh on curtains and drapes because of the temperature and moisture changes on them throughout the year. Also, fumes from cooking and oils, dust, and heating gasses affect your curtains. Fumes are present even when you aren’t aware of them, and when allowed to remain in the fabric for extended periods, deterioration becomes evident.

PRICING
Charges depend upon the type of fabric your curtains are made from. For a standard 2.4m high curtain, we charge per drop – meaning for each 123cm across the bottom of the curtain – often you can simply count the seam lines where drops are sewn together. Or, as an estimate you can measure across the window and multiply by X 2 to account for pleat gathering and conversion from Metre to Drop. Quotes elsewhere might charge per Metre, adding 20% to out drop method.
Price per drop:
- Unlined and unbacked $20 per drop ($16.26 p/m)
- Cotton Lined or Acrylic Backed $25 per drop ($20.33 p/m)
- Acrylic Lined $30 per drop ($24.39 p/m)
- Velvet Front $40 per drop ($32.52 p/m)
CURTAIN CLEANING
Note, some hazards and pitfalls can occur with the drycleaning or laundry processing of curtains.
- Curtains that they are often manufactured with a non-preshrunk fabric, so the mechanical action in normal drycleaning can cause relaxation Shrinkage of up to 3%.
- Light Damage and aged Water marks will not remove in the curtain drycleaning process.
- Acrylic Coatings or Bonding can sometimes react adversely to the drycleaning process. Especially if build-up of the elements mentioned above have aged with time, or are on a Notrth-facing sun exposed window.
Dynasty Dry cleaners GreenEarth processes will minimise these effects, however, as a precaution of the potential issues above, we will only process with a disclaimer for curtain cleaning.
